Jordan’s Amazing, Intense Hypnobabies Hospital Birth

“I got in the car and put in my headphones listening to my Deepening Your Hypnosis track (Hypnobabies track for deepening the level of hypnosis) which melted away any discomfort I felt during pressure waves. I was able to get comfortable and focus.”

This was my second child but first Hypno-baby. I practiced everyday starting at 29 weeks and fell asleep 90% of the time haha. My first son was born 5 weeks premature so I wanted a program that would help me give birth naturally and ease my anxiety due to the trauma I experienced with my first birth.
The week prior to Jameson being born I was feeling very light and comfortable pressure waves (Hypnobabies word for contractions) maybe once or twice a day.

On June 7th I was 38 weeks + 5 days, I went to my dad’s house for Sunday dinner (that we do every Sunday) and was feeling more comfortable pressure waves about every 45ish minutes. I honestly didn’t think anything of it because I’ve never made it this far in pregnancy and when it was birthing time (Hypnobabies term for labor) with my last pregnancy I was in a lot of discomfort and kinda knew the feeling to look for, at least I thought I did lol.

At 11:30 pm that night I noticed another nice and gentle pressure wave, then another at midnight. I called my doula at about 12:15 am to see what she thought. She said the hospital might not accept me until my pressure waves were 5 minutes apart and to call them to see if I should come in now or not. I called and felt another pressure wave at about 12:30 now and this time it became uncomfortable. I remembered the feeling all too well and had to hang up the phone before they could answer my question. I called my doula again this time feeling another pressure wave at 12:38 and she told me to head to the hospital.

We had planned on my husband staying home if my birthing time came in the middle of the night so he could watch our toddler. He’s never spent the night anywhere else or without either of us before, so I didn’t want to give him any anxiety during this time. So, my sister came to pick me up and while I was waiting and getting my bag, pressure waves were every 4 minutes now. I got in the car and put in my headphones listening to my Deepening Your Hypnosis track (Hypnobabies track for deepening the level of hypnosis) which melted away any discomfort I felt during pressure waves. I was able to get comfortable and focus.

By the time I got to the hospital, my doula was already there waiting for me. They got me in a wheelchair and led me up to my room. The nurses had a lot of questions which distracted me from my hypnosis causing some real intense discomfort. My doula did her best to answer the questions for me and stop them from asking me anymore. When I got to the room, I immediately felt the urge to push. They checked me and I was at a 10! I wasn’t able to get my speaker out or focus on my hypnosis for the rest of the birth due to being in a lot of discomfort (I have a pretty low tolerance to discomfort lol). My doula was amazing at giving me cues, like the Relax cue (deepens level of hypnosis) and the Release cue (Instantly enter hypnosis) to relax me as much as she could, and I birthed a beautiful 9 lb 6.5 oz. baby boy with no medication or intervention! I did ask for medication for relief during my birthing time, but deep down I knew it was too late (and it was lol) and just felt comfort in asking, so I did…multiple times haha.

According to my doula, she believes I was at the beginning stages of my birthing time all day and didn’t feel any discomfort due to Hypnobabies. Birthing time was one of my biggest fears because my first son lasted 24 hours before I began pushing and I was in extreme discomfort the whole time. This was sooooo much better, although still intense at the end, it was so quick I didn’t even have time to think about what was happening. I only felt discomfort from 12:30 am until he was born at 1:44 am, so only an hour and fifteen minutes! I was amazed!

So glad I decided to do the Hypnobabies course. I couldn’t be happier with how my birth went. I can’t believe I did it! 🙌
