Thank you Hypnobabies!

Although I did choose to be induced at my doctor’s urging, this birthing experience was the opposite of my first in every other way.

One week ago, today, I started Pitocin at 9 am with my husband, doula and Hypnobabies tracks. At noon I declined to have my water broken, (I was at a 2-3 dilation and 90% effaced). I ate lunch and took a nap instead.

Stuff got real around 5:50 pm when it dawned on me my doctor would be back and talk of epidural and breaking water would start again.

The whole day had been relatively relaxing. I listened to my birthing day tracks (like Easy First Stage and Birthing Day Affirmations), made light talk with folks and found my waves (Hypnobabies word for contraction) to be interestingly no big deal at all. My husband kept commenting that this was very different than the first time.

But when I was checked and only at a six dilation, just before 6p, I started to worry I would not be able to handle transformation (Hypnobabies word for transition) if they broke my water.

I agreed to the epidural at 6:30 pm and I was getting prepped when my body took over. Trippy thing. One makes primal sounds. So much pressure!

My doula kept me grounded though, thanks, Jayde Marie! ♥️I pushed myself up on all fours, pushed down and broke my water – holy relief – which sent everyone scrambling. 😁

I pushed for five minutes, maybe five minutes. Then she was in my arms… Pain med free, clear-headed and overwhelmed by the power in the female body.

Thank you Hypnobabies!!!!
