Ariel’s Hypnobabies Home Waterbirth

“Midwives arrived at about 10 am and started setting up the tub. I just continued my tracks and working through each pressure wave with my doula and husband. By 11 am I was involuntarily pushing. Got in the tub and she was born like 10 mins later!”

Ya’ll. I’m so freaking proud of myself right now! Thanks to Hypnobabies (and my birthing team), we welcomed our third baby girl, Emma Jade, into the world this morning at 11:11am.

I’m 39 weeks today. My water popped at 8 pm last night so I took a shower and went to bed listening to my Easy First Stage track (Hypnobabies main birthing time track). At about 5 am the pressure waves (Hypnobabies term for contractions) were getting stronger, so I woke up my husband and got in the shower with my Easy First Stage track on the speakers. Our doula arrived at about 6 am. Midwives arrived at about 10 am and started setting up the tub. I just continued my tracks and working through each pressure wave with my doula and husband. By 11 am I was involuntarily pushing. Got in the tub and she was born like 10 mins later!

My best advice is to have a doula or birthing partner who really knows Hypnobabies. I did feel the pressure waves–they were way better than my two non-Hypnobabies births, but I did have to work through them, and my doula was incredibly helpful (positioning, coaching, making helpful sounds with me ).

Hypnobabies did an amazing job and teaching me to relax during/between, how to open, how to get babe in the best position, confidence, how to push and so much more — so many things were notably different than my first two births in such a positive way.

I still can’t believe that I did it!
