Annie’s 2nd VBAC, 2nd Hypno-baby … First Home Birth

“My mom and daughters were brought into the living room after a few of these intense waves. I pushed several times, and successfully had a VBAC home birth of our baby comfortably at 10:51pm. Together, my husband and I discovered we just gave birth to the most perfect little girl and celebrated with our family.”VBAC home birth birthing person in tub with partner assisting

Introducing miss Evelyn Jean

She was born beautifully at home on January 10th at 10:51pm surrounded by my daughters, mom, my incredible husband and rock, and the best birth team I could ask for. I had the VBAC home birth I dreamed and prayed for- truly, every detail was there. It was an incredible experience.VBAC Home Birth Couple

My waves (Hypnobabies term for contractions) started a regular pattern around 6pm. By 7pm we recognized them getting more intense and closer together, so we called in our birth team and began to air up and fill the birth pool. I plugged into my Hypnobabies tracks and began to really focus on my breath and tools.

My team of midwives and doulas arrived between 9-9:20pm. At 9:30pm I only measured 5cm, 80% effaced which was slightly disappointing to hear. After weeks of prodromal waves, I was more than ready to meet our baby. Nevertheless, I got into the pool around 9:45pm, with my husband and doulas by my side and my focus deepened.

The midwives noticed the change in my sounds and joined us around the pool. My mom and daughters were brought into the living room after a few of these intense waves. I pushed several times, and birthed our baby comfortably at 10:51pm. Evelyn is derived from Eve, meaning life, living one, breath of life.

Jean means God is gracious and comes from both of our mothers (his mom’s middle name is Jean, my mom’s name is Jeanette).

We have been enjoying our first week with our little peanut with many snuggles, surrounded by an unmeasurable amount of love from our families. Evelyn has already surpassed her birth weight, measuring 7# 4oz on Sunday. She’s definitely eating well and loves to be held. We are completely smitten by this little beauty.

Newborn baby Happy 1st week, and welcome to the world, our precious baby girl.
