Along with teaching Hypnobabies classes, I am also a DONA-trained birth doula and hypno-doula. I have also offered Early Pregnancy and Preconception workshops and organized other informational events for expecting parents while teaming up with other a number of other birth-related businesses. I am an active volunteer with my local La Leche League (breastfeeding support) & as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I have specialized in fertility, pregnancy and postpartum support.
I fell in love with everything to do with birthing when my nephew was born in 1997 - this was the first birth I had ever witnessed and I was hooked! Attending births remained a "hobby" for me for several years until 2008 when I decided to follow my passion and launched HypnoMammas! I became the first Hypnobabies Instructor in Canada in 2009 and have been proud to see this amazing program grow in popularity: they even mention it during the hospital tours at one of our local hospitals and I've had several L&D nurses, doulas, midwives and even doctors take my classes!
I became a hypno-mom myself in June of 2015 - after teaching Hypnobabies literally over 100 times to several hundred couples!! My husband and I took an entire 6 week live class with another instructor and it was the most amazing experience. One of my favourite parts of the program is the birth partner involvement and this was the best part for me in taking the live class. It was so wonderful bonding with hubs while preparing for our birth and watching his confidence grow - I KNEW he was going to be able to fully support me.
I had a wonderful Hypnobabies birth and honestly feel that I could not have done it without my hypno-tools!! I can't wait to do it again! 🙂
