Sharing is caring!
Because of some pretty major intestinal problems, I had to have a colonoscopy done and some bleeding in my large intestine cauterized on Monday. Generally, these procedures are done with substantial sedation and pain medication, but I’m 26 weeks pregnant and didn’t want to put those drugs into my baby.
So… against medical advice, I had the procedure done without medication. They let me listen to my Hypnobabies track (I picked “special place”) for 30 minutes prior, and keep my iPod on during the procedure. …
While I can’t say it was pain-free, I can say that I made it through, and I’m very proud of myself. I’ve only been doing Hypnobabies for 3 weeks, so I didn’t have all the “ammo”, yet the medical staff was amazed that I was able to handle it! It was about as un-natural a procedure as I can imagine, but Hypnobabies still kept me relaxed, in control, and completely drug-free.
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for helping me keep my baby drug-free in the womb – I can’t wait to see how this works during a healthy, natural birth.
