Roza’s Fast Hypnobabies Hospital Induction

“Within an hour from getting induced, my birthing time (Hypnobabies word for labor) began and so I started listening to the track Easy First Stage (Hypnobabies main birthing time track) which helped me tremendously.”

I’d love to thank Kerry Tuschhoff and all the admins of the Hypnobabies Support Group for your help during my short but effective course of Hypnobabies in the last month or so.

My first Hypnobabies birth at the end of my 4th pregnancy was the most memorable, “adventurous” and my first without an epidural! I had to go into hospital at 39 weeks to be induced due to preeclampsia. My doctor ordered Cytotec to be taken internally every 4 hours, but I requested the local placement of Cervadyl instead after having quickly researched the risks/benefits of Cytotec. The Joyful Pregnancy Affirmations track that assures us we should confidently ask for what we want and expect others to respect our choices helped me advocate for myself.

Within an hour from getting induced, my birthing time (Hypnobabies word for labor) began and so I started listening to the track Easy First Stage (Hypnobabies main birthing time track) which helped me tremendously. It was the only track I listened to throughout birthing time. My discomfort tolerance was much higher than that of my previous 3 birthing times.

The nurses said they were impressed they didn’t hear me during my pressure waves (Hypnobabies word for contractions). I focused on my tracks and let my husband deal with the small talk during the nurses’ visits to my room … When my water broke around 9 pm, my pressure waves became stronger. I was focused on my track more than ever. They checked me and I was only at 4 cm dilation. That had me wondering how much longer I could keep going with just the track, without an epidural.

The nurse had decided to leave the Cervadyl in the cervix despite my earlier curiosity questions to her about taking it out if pressure waves had already started active birthing time for me. So, things went super-fast from there, which now had me asking for the epidural. Without going into much detail, in less than 30 mins, baby boy was there!! It was the most amazing birth experience ever both for me & hubby! He was joking that I was just pretending that hypnosis helped 🙄, but then confessed that I was never this calm and quiet during my birthing times previously and was able to hold off asking for the epidural much longer this time! My only wish is that I had started it sooner (I practiced very irregularly and only for 3 short weeks) and now I, naturally, recommend it to all moms-to-be!
