Regina’s Perfect Change of Plans Hypnobabies Birth

“I was giving instructions of what I wanted and needed while in Center (Hypnobabies technique for being in hypnosis while able to walk, talk, etc.). While Off, I was talking to my baby, chatting with him and explaining what was going on. Time flew, I don’t have any recollection of time. I was simply flying in another zone, very comfortable and empowered.”

I’ve been trying to write this for two months now, but every time I couldn’t finish. Since our little boy Daniel was born, we’ve been dealing with lot of breastfeeding issues due to a torticollis and three frenulum ties in his mouth since birth. But as Hypnobabies taught us, we took one day at a time, and today after two months, we are almost there for an exclusive breastfeeding as we dreamed. So, thank you for that.

For my birth story, you don’t need a Bubble of Peace (Hypnobabies tool to keep negativity away), because this is our story and it was perfect for us. Far from what I envisioned, but simply wonderful. And even if our plans changed, my husband didn’t read the change of plans, we fully embraced what our birthing journey was and we made all the right decisions for our baby to be born as we were fully informed and aware of what we wanted. I’m very thankful to Hypnobabies for that, this was the most amazing journey of our lives.

Just to tell you I lost my waters too early and after 24 hours at the Birthing center, I had to be transferred to the hospital just for protocol. My husband kept joking I was the project manager all along (as this is my profession) during the birthing time (Hypnobabies word for labor). I was giving instructions of what I wanted and needed while in Center (Hypnobabies technique for being in hypnosis while able to walk, talk, etc.). While Off, I was talking to my baby, chatting with him and explaining what was going on. Time flew, I don’t have any recollection of time. I was simply flying in another zone, very comfortable and empowered. As time started to elapse, I realized some people were getting a bit concerned. I managed to make jokes and smile at all times as I truly felt happy and excited to meet our little man. My husband was also laughing, we had a great time. We have many memories of funny moments.

At the hospital, all the nurses were impressed. I managed to convince them I was a professional swimmer 😂😂😂 (far from the truth). I pushed for long technically speaking, but still, for me, it felt like five minutes. Time flew, never felt any discomfort. With every push, I would even kiss my husband on the cheek, make some funny comment or tell him how much I loved him. While in off, I kept talking to my baby. When the doctor suggested to suction the baby out, I completely rejected the suggestion, I talked to my baby instead, explained it was time to come out now, and in the next pressure wave (Hypnobabies word for contraction( we were crowning and out all in one long wave. I was in off, in our own little Bubble of Peace, but my husband told me afterward that the doctor started jumping amazed, screaming “yes you got this” as if Canada was winning the soccer World Cup 😂😂😂

And here you have a photo of my baby just born in my arms. Would you have guessed it took us 48 hours of work? Nope, right? Because that doesn’t matter, it’s all in your head. Numbers and technicalities don’t matter. Just live the moment, embrace your body, talk to your baby and enjoy every minute! It’s a life-changing moment that I’ll treasure forever. Thanks, so much Hypnobabies! 🥰

Ps: Daniel was born naturally with perfect Apgar score and while birthing, his heart rate was always perfect too. He was 3,800 grams and 57 cm long. Perfectly healthy, he sleeps at night with the Hypnobabies background music that he used to listen in the belly while I was practicing and he’s a super peaceful baby 🥰 he’s so easy that despite the breastfeeding challenges and exercises, we’ve already traveled a bit with him with friends.

I’m also grateful to be in Montreal, Canada, where I felt fully respected and loved by my midwives and then the personnel at the hospital. Everyone listened to what we wanted and needed and only recommended medically needed procedures though left the decision in our hands. It was truly the most wonderful and amazing experience of our lives!
