Stay In Baby Question

I have a question about the Baby Stay In track. I am 34 weeks pregnant so I know that at this point my midwife will just let me have the baby if I were to go into labor. However, due to financial reasons I REALLY want to go to 40 weeks. I only have 6 weeks paid maternity leave and if I go to 40 weeks then it will roll into summer vacation (I'm a 1st grade teacher). If he comes early then I would have to go back to work. This would add stress to me, my students, my husband and we would have to scarmble to find child care for the last few weeks of school. I know the Baby Stay In track is geared toward pre-term labor which I would really be at this point. Do you think it would still work to keep him in awhile longer? I haven't had any signs that he is coming any time soon but I have been stressed about this. Let me know what you all think!! Thanks!

Thank you ladies!! I am doing my best to relax and enjoy the last few weeks. I will try doing the fear clearing session tonight. I know that he will come when he is ready, it's just hard for me to let go of the control! I talked to my doula about my worries yesterday and she helped me a lot. I am seeing my midwife today and I know she will help as well. I will hold off on the Baby Stay In track until after I do the fear clearing. I haven't done the Visualize Your Birth yet (planning on doing it soon) but when I do I will try to put a date in there. His guess date is my birthday and I would love to share it with him!

    Hi Mary,
I agree completely with Karen - babies come when they're ready! Also, the odds are certainly in your favor that you will likely make it to 40 weeks. Perhaps a Fear Clearing session specifically around these concerns will be helpful. I also know of other moms who have enjoyed working tentative dates into their "Visualize Your Birth" session as well.

Any of these sessions as well as the Baby Stay IN track can only help reduce stress which is key to allowing you to enjoy these last weeks of pregnancy.

Babies come when they are ready. The good news is that, especially if you are a first time mom, the odds are in your favor that baby will come after 40 weeks. One thing for sure is that stressing about it won't help.

Listening to the Baby Stay In track may help you reduce your stress and communicate with baby to stay in longer and also accept that baby will ultimately come at the perfect time for baby. The baby knows his/her birthday!
