Refreshing skills for a second birth

I had my first baby 20 months ago and my new guess date is in 4 weeks. So I'm starting to refresh my memory about Hypno techniques. My first birthing ended up to c-section after long dilation process (in which I was ok to use only hypnosis for over 24 h).

Is there some order how I should listen to the tracks now? So far I've been listening them in the order that is in the hand out for last weeks after the course is completed. And when and how often should I listen to VBAC track which I'm going to purchase?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Liisa,
    Congrats on this pregnancy!
It is really important that you re-do the entire Hypnobabies program in preparation for this birth in order to receive the benefits. If you took a live class the first time, and are unable to do so again this time you can purchase the Home Study set which will walk you through re-learning all of your hypnosis tools on your own (the live materials are not set up this way).

If you did the home study program the first time, then you can easily follow all the detailed instructions for re-learning your hypnosis tools.

To answer your question about incorporating the VBAC tracks, some people wait until they are in the maintenance program (after completing the course) and add in those tracks whereas others start listening to these ones earlier on. If you have extra time during the week (so outside of your regular Hypnobabies program practice) you can absolutely listen to these tracks anytime as well. Some prefer to wait to incorporate the Visualization track until they have gone through at least a few weeks of the program so that they can really visualize using *all* of their hypnosis tools.

I, too, am expecting my second child (18 weeks pregnant now), and I took a live course for my first birth. The kiddos will be two years apart. Buying the entire home study course seems excessive, as I already have all of the audio tracks/scripts from the live course. What specifically from the home study course is needed in order to refresh my hypnosis skills?

    Hi Melissa,
The Home Study set is *designed* to teach you the hypnosis tools with detailed instructions for learning the program *on your own* whereas the live course materials are designed for you to learn the tools with an instructor (then practice on your own). It is impossible to refresh Hypnobabies. The instructions, home play, info/material, etc are actually different between the two programs. It can be very difficult to re-learn the entire program on your own using live class materials which is why the official Hypnobabies recommendation is to re-do the program either via Home Study or live class for each subsequent birth.

On top of these technical details, every baby deserves the time that it takes to learn Hypnobabies, and the effort you can make in preparing for *this* birth. :)

One more thing to put it into perspective, you will want to read the information in this article:
"Hypnobabies is NOT a Listen-Only Program"

I tried to only refresh my skills last time, and while my birth was "ok" it was not the birth I had hoped for, nor anything like my first Hypnobabies birth. This time around, I am all in. I have the Home Study course and I am working through it step by step. I want to make sure that I have everything I need for a successful, natural childbirth.
I know the Home Study Course is a lot of money to put out, but to put it in perspective, the Home Study Course is $150. An epidural alone is a lot, lot more than that.
