Natural induction techniques

0
My guess date has arrived and the little guy seems perfectly content up there. I was told there was a section in the home study course that gave suggestions on how to get things going naturally, but can't find it. I was hoping I could get some tips and suggestions that may help as I patiently wait. :) Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hi Mackenzie,
You may want to review the section in your materials (class 4) about calculating your Guess Date - there is also a reference to a study that came out of Harvard in 1992 that shows that the average length of gestation for first time moms is just past 41 weeks (41+1). Also a good reminder that not all babies need the same amount of time in the womb (they 'cook' at different rates). :)

Remembering that up to 42 weeks is completely normal may help curb that natural impatience (& wanting to meet your baby!). Also reminding yourself that your baby will let you know when he/she is ready - unless there is a medical reason, it's best to let your baby decide when they are ready to be born...on his/her birth day!

If induction is being discussed (there is a medical indication) then yes, there are many natural ways of inducing birthing waves. You can review the information in Class 3 (interventions - specifically, inductions) for specific ideas! :-)
    Happy Birthing!
    Jenn
