I am currently 24 weeks and just began my Hypnobabies Home Study Course. My doctor is unfamiliar with Hypnobabies. Does anyone have any handouts that would be good to share with my doctor/nurses to explain the program? Preferably with some nice scientific facts and figures?

Thank you!

    Hi Christina,
You should have a handout "how you can assist the hypno-family" which will help your doctor understand how to support you. As far as handouts explaining how hypnosis works with research, stats, etc I don't know of any you could access. If your doctor is really interested in learning more, there is a LOT of information online. You could direct him/her to the Hypnobabies website for example, send them the article "Hypnosis For Childbirth: What is it & how does it work?" (https://hypnobabies.com/about-hypnobabies/how-does-it-work), more info about hypnosis, etc.

I know personally, when I first found out about hypnosis and it's applications beyond smoking cessation & stage shows (which is what many people think of), it was VERY easy for me to find all kinds of fascinating information and research available on the benefits and recognition of hypnosis. I have a feeling that if you explain as best you can to your doctor about Hypnobabies (be sure to specify that it is Hypnobabies and not Hypnobirthing) and they are genuinely interested, they could easily find all kinds of information online.
