crying during 'safe place'

I was listening to the safe place track for the first time. I was very relaxed; my arms felt heavy if i tried to move them. All o fa sudden tears started running down my face! Is that normal?

I'm re-posting my response on the main page here:

I am wondering whether there were tears or if your eyes were watering. Some people experience a state of deep relaxation in hypnosis which translates to watering eyes so it could have been just a simple effect of the deeply relaxed state. If they were, in fact, tears my question would be how were you feeling while doing the practice (emotionally)? Personally, I have experienced tears running down my face while in hypnosis (where the hypnotherapist had to ask if I was alright) - I was! I was just so engrossed and thoroughly enjoying the session that it was an involuntary & even powerfully positive reaction.

If the tears feel like they are connected to some emotion then this might be a reason to seek the support of an experienced hypnotherapist if this persists. They will be able to help you better understand the root of the emotion(s) coming up.
