Am I sleeping sometimes when listening to my tracks?

0
Hi everyone!

I'm 34 weeks pregnant with my second baby and I've been wondering for awhile that sometimes I drift off into such a deep state while listening to my hypnobabies track of the day that my track finishes and the next one starts to play without me even knowing. Then I slowly come back to a conscious state and don't really know what just happened. Does that mean am I falling asleep while listening to my tracks? And if I am will it still have the effect that the track is supposed to have on me? Has anyone else experienced the same issue? All suggestions/comments will be super-helpful!!!

Thanks!

This is actually quite common! I've had several students over the years ask about this in my live classes. You'll even find this issue addressed in the article in your Hypnobabies Workbook titled "Hypnobabies Introduction" (point 6).

The bottom line is that many times women aren't actually in a state of sleep at all, just so deeply relaxed (mentally and physically) that their conscious minds don't really feel the need to pay attention. So we sometimes feel that if there is no conscious memory, we must have been asleep - not so! Your inner mind is *ALWAYS* recording and receiving the messages it needs.

Even if a hypno-mom does actually fall asleep (as in they wake up hours after a track has finished or the next morning for example, again rest assured the mind is still receiving all the messages.

For any moms who want to consciously pay more attention to the messages, you can play the track out loud in the background while doing something else - be sure that this activity doesn't require *full attention* for safety reasons (ie - stick to things like folding laundry or organizing things around the house since you will still go into a light state of hypnosis).

I just started 2 days ago so I've listened to track 1 twice and track 2 once... Each time it seemed like I fell asleep, but I immediately "woke up" as the speaker was counting to 3 at the end. Pretty incredible. I do think I will try to listen while doing something else to consciously hear everything, but so far so good!
