Meghan’s Beautiful Hypnobabies Hospital Birthing
We welcomed our second sweet little hypno-baby to the world on Saturday morning!
“I was completely dilated and ready to push with my Pushing Baby Out track (Hypnobabies special track just for pushing) playing over the speaker. 4 big pushes and Violet was in my arms by 10:21 am!”

I started feeling a few practice waves (Hypnobabies word for Braxton Hicks) early Friday morning and hoped it meant my birthing time (Hypnobabies word for labor) was near since I was 39+4 weeks, but wasn’t completely convinced since these waves felt so different from my first hypno-birth. I tried to get some more sleep and continue with my day as usual. I had been feeling a few inconsistent mild pressure waves (Hypnobabies word for contractions) throughout the day and into the evening but it wasn’t until about 1 am on Saturday that the waves became consistent and a bit more intense that I accepted it was officially my birthing time.
I began listening to my hypnosis tracks at that point and alternated between Deepening Your Hypnosis (Hypnobabies track to deepen the level of hypnosis), Fear Clearing (Hypnobabies special track to release any fears), Special Safe Place and Birthing Day Affirmations. I was so so excited and feeling very calm and relaxed.
I told my husband around 4, we should probably call the grandparents to come to stay with our daughter and we were on our way to the hospital by 5:30 am.
We arrived at the hospital and after a check, I was a bit discouraged to learn I was at 4 cm, so I continued to listen to my tracks and rolled with my pressure waves for a few more hours. During that time, I switched positions many times, sat on the birthing ball, used a rebozo, and had my husband use hypnosis cues (Peace, Release & Relax) and counter pressure to keep me relaxed and comfortable.
Around 9:30 am I asked for another check and I was at 6.5cm. I decided to have the doctor break my bag of waters to hopefully speed things up at that point. The doctor came and by the time he was ready to break the waters I was dilated to 8 cm. My pressure waves intensified at that point and soon I began to feel pushy. I was completely dilated and ready to push with my Pushing Baby Out track (Hypnobabies special track just for pushing) playing over the speaker. 4 big pushes and Violet was in my arms by 10:21 am! It truly was a beautiful birthing and a happy day! We are so in love with our little girl.
