I used hypnosis while having Bryson. He was my 3rd baby and 2nd VBAC. I wanted a natural childbirth, but was nervous about the pain. I used Hypnobabies www.hypnobabies.com and had a completely un-medicated AND comfortable birth. It was so empowering.
"A home birth using Hypnobabies Childbirth Hypnosis. It's hard to convey to people the fact that birth does NOT have to be something to fear, and CAN be enjoyable! It's hard to just tell people how enjoyable birth can be, but now I can finally show people and share with them my personal enjoyable birth!" ~ Willem's mama, Michael
This was shared by Tanya, who used Hypnobabies for her 2 births. (I have been working on editing her birth video, I hope to have it ready to share soon!)
She shared this experience:
“Think your Hypnobabies tools are only useful for your birth? Think again. After having 2 beautiful and pain free births using Hypnobabies, I’ve learned to use the techniques in other areas of my life, including meditation, stressful situations, neck/back aches, etc.. Last weekend I had the opportunity to use them again at my dermatologist’s office.
I had a suspicious looking mole on my hip and the doctor told me she needed to biopsy it. The nurse came in and started filling a needle with a local pain medication. I stopped her and asked if that was safe for a nursing mother. She said I wouldn’t be able to nurse for 12 hours. My 9 month old nurses about every 2 hours so I told her that wouldn’t work and that I’d just have the procedure without the pain medication.
The nurse chuckled and said “oh no, we’d never do that, it’d hurt too much”. I assured her I’d had 2 children with no pain meds and that I could handle it. She said “we just don’t do that – we would never perform a biopsy without drugs”. I pushed. “Please ask the doctor. I promise, I can handle it.” The doctor came in with a surprised look on her face. “You want to do this with no drugs?!”
I explained I was nursing and I would simply use the hypnosis techniques I used for my drug free births. She smiled and said “ok, let’s begin”. I asked for a moment, took a deep breath, went into ‘OFF’ switch and directed my golden anesthesia to my hip. She was done in seconds without even a flinch from me. (What was all the fuss about??) She said “you did amazing, we’ve never had anyone do that before”. So remember, Hypnobabies For Birth…but also Hypnobabies For Life!”
We asked Hypnobabies parents Scott and Gia to share their thoughts about choosing Hypnobabies for Kai’s birth. They talk candidly about their expectations and experiences with researching, learning and practicing Hypnobabies as they prepared for childbirth.
In Part 2 they share their Hypnobabies birth story and advice.
Scott and Gia share with us how Hypno-baby Kai’s birth went for them. Gia’s comfort level, who ended up catching her baby and how nurses kept coming in to see Gia doing Hypnobabies!
It is amazing how powerful hypnosis can be in helping us deal with medical events. This video shows how it can help with cancer and surgery. So imagine how wonderful Hypnobabies Childbirth Hypnosis works for birth, which is something our body is meant to do!
The perfect video introducing dads/partners to the basics about homebirth - from the dad's perspective. When a family considers having a homebirth, it is rare for the dad to have another experienced dad to talk to. In this video a cross section of dads candidly answer questions about their concerns and considerations.
