Birthing time began this afternoon around 3 after seeing my midwife this morning for a 41+2 day check and Foley bulb insertion. Waves were really strong from the get go and around 5 minutes apart. But I was able to switch off during them and breathe to stay pretty comfortable
By 6 pm the Foley had come out and birthing waves were 3 minutes apart almost immediately. Was able to feel pressure in my bum so I called the midwife to head in. While I was getting ready to go and my waters released.
Got to the birth center and discovered I was 9 cm to my amazement! Unfortunately the midwife felt and knew she wasn’t feeling head and confirmed with the US that sometime in my birthing time, baby had flipped breech.
This meant a transfer to the hospital and as we moved I tried to stay calm and hope that my body would move her down enough to try a vaginal delivery.
By the time we got settled into a room my waves had slowed and spread out to nearly nothing and the OB had zero confidence in her ability to get this girl out safely vaginally. After many tears I consented to a C-Section. Turns out this girl had then turned transverse at some point and it took some rough maneuvering to get her out safely.
7lbs 15oz of pure squishy. We are both doing well considering the circumstances. Definitely got to use my Hypnobabies tools even when it was surgery time and can’t believe how well they worked to get me so far into my birthing time. So thankful
