Kasha’s Awesome Hypnobabies Hospital Birth

“My doula and husband said it was an awesome birth and my nurse said she was going to tell so many people about it because of how well our birthing time (Hypnobabies word for labor) went.”

My water broke on Sunday morning and today I brought home my amazing little boy. I am so thankful for my Hypnobabies training. I will write more later when I’m not so exhausted. We went in early on Monday morning and met my doula and midwife at the hospital. Things went well, and I used my lightswitch (a Hypnobabies comfort technique). A bit later after I hadn’t progressed quite as much as we had anticipated We regrouped and I had some medicine to nap and take a short break.

I took a short nap, using my lightswitch and for the rest of my birthing time I was using my hypnosis cues and I was so comfortable I barely even opened my eyes until after my son was born. I spent some time in the shower and on the bed. I never even made it to the tub. After things going slowly at the beginning they went super fast towards the end and I actually waited to finish pushing so the doctor could make it to the room. My doula and husband said it was an awesome birth and my nurse said she was going to tell so many people about it because of how well our birthing time went. (And I wasn’t even cranky a little bit  😉). DH keeps telling me how proud of me he is. Like I said I’ll write this all down so it’s more cohesive one day when it’s not 4:30am but I just couldn’t wait to share this. Breastfeeding and recovery are going so well, and we are so grateful for this course. (During my birth I just turned on my Hypnobabies Birthing Day tracks playlist on repeat and everything just lined up. The Pushing Baby Out track (Hypnobabies hypnosis track just for pushing) was on as I happened to be pushing. It was very serendipitous!)
