Gabriella’s Hypnobabies Hospital Birth

“After a few more waves (Hypnobabies word for contraction), transformation (Hypnobabies for transition)  began! I was able to easily breathe through transformation and then I started feeling pushy. My body took over and I was bearing down more than I expected. Within half an hour, he was here!”

My perfect little Hypno-baby, Henry, made his arrival yesterday 7/28 at 6:53 PM. 6 lbs 14.8 oz and 19″ long.

I started having waves that I couldn’t sleep through the 26th at about 12:30 AM. We went to the hospital at 7 AM Friday morning and got turned away because I wasn’t dilated enough. I had a lot of waves in my back, baby wasn’t posterior, but his chin wasn’t tucked. I went back to the hospital at about 10:30 PM that night and was admitted because my water bag was leaking.

I continued having waves in my back through the night. I was having some discomfort and using counter pressure to help. The next morning, I got a really amazing nurse who helped us do a abdominal lift and tuck and got his head tucked. I continued having waves in my back and started having a hard time using my tools and staying comfortable. At some point after being in my birthing time for so long with waves in my back, I lost focus.

I ended up with a lot of discomfort and started to doubt my ability to finish naturally. Then my nurse suggested a side lying release. We did the release and she said I had an imbalance in my hips that was stalling things. Once the release was finished, I started walking between waves and squatting during. The first wave after the release, my water completely released!

I decided I needed to get my head back focused because I knew that was going to make things more powerful. I refocused just in time. After a few more waves, transformation began! I was able to easily breathe through transformation and then I started feeling pushy. My body took over and I was bearing down more than I expected. Within half an hour, he was here!

I had 42 hours of consistent waves in my back and about 21 hours of birthing time at the hospital. I may have lost focus for a bit, but if it wasn’t for Hypnobabies, I have no doubt I would’ve ended up with an epidural and probably a c section due to his position/slow progress. With Hypnobabies I achieved my dream of a 100% natural birth. It is amazing to see firsthand how important mindset is!! I am so so so thankful for this program.
