First Time Mom Merced’s Hypnobabies Home Waterbirth

“The support I received from my significant other was no doubt a key factor in bringing our baby boy earth side just the way I envisioned. He was there for me every moment giving my Release (Hypnobabies cue to instantly enter hypnosis), Relax (Hypnobabies cue to deepen hypnosis) and Peace (Hypnobabies cue for instant physical comfort) cues and reading birth prompts to me throughout my birthing time (Hypnobabies word for labor).”

Hypnobabies Childbirth Hypnosis really does help you enjoy a much easier and more comfortable birthing! Use code hypno1528 for 10% off our Hypnobabies Home Study Courses.

So proud to announce I got everything I wished for out of this first-time pregnancy and birth and had a successful at home water birth completely natural. 🌺🌺

From the moment I started practicing Hypnobabies, I knew that this was the program for me! I did everything I could to be consistent in listening daily and getting the reading done. Even if that meant listening at 3 am when I got home from work. I do admit that I fell asleep almost every time, no matter when I listened. But I tried to stay focused on the fact that my subconscious would have my back. I often listened to the Joyful Pregnancy Affirmations multiple times a day and it truly made a difference in relieving stress and keeping my Bubble of Peace (Hypnobabies tool to keep negativity away) intact. Especially when interacting with people who were not so positive all the time. Also, the Hypnobabies Support Group was amazing!! And I want to thank everyone for being here and asking questions! Often I would have a question and want to post but someone else would already have asked and I got the answer I needed. And reading all the beautiful birth stories were truly empowering!! THANK YOU ALL!! 😍😍

The support I received from my significant other was no doubt a key factor in bringing our baby boy earth s

ide just the way I envisioned. He was there for me every moment giving my Release (Hypnobabies cue to instantly enter hypnosis), Relax (Hypnobabies cue to deepen hypnosis) and Peace (Hypnobabies cue for instant physical comfort) cues and reading birth prompts to me throughout my birthing time (Hypnobabies word for labor). Making sure I was listening to whatever track I needed, headphones charged, going to restroom every hour, eating and staying hydrated. He and my doula worked together to ensure my birth plans were followed and that if anything needed to change, I was making the most informed decisions possible. Love them!!😍😍

Of course, I wanted baby boy to come on his own terms but I was also under some pressure from my OB to have an induction at 42 weeks. I was receiving co-care from both my OB at Kaiser as well as my hired midwives from South Coast Midwifery. Both didn’t want my birthing time to go past 42 weeks but my midwives were WAY more supportive about what we could do naturally to help get things moving. Although, I did have confidence that I wouldn’t even make it to 42 weeks anyways. 😁

I kept myself active and walked at least two miles a day. At 40+2 & 40+3 I lost my plug but no real birthing waves (Hypnobabies word for contractions) were happening. I was experiencing some Braxton Hicks but nothing consistent. On 40+4 I went to my midwife and she determined that although baby boy was head down & anterior his little butt was falling forward making it more difficult for him to descend. She suggested I wear a corset to bring him closer to me. I also went ahead and had a membrane sweep. I wore the corset the rest of the day/evening (and throughout some of birthing time). I took it off right before bed and fell asleep listening to Easy Comfortable Childbirth track.

I woke up at about 3 am on 40+5 (3.12) to this feeling of period cramps that would come and go. I wasn’t quite sure if these were waves but I decided to begin listening to tracks and using the Hypnobabies app to track these feelings. Soon enough I realized they were for sure waves. I decided to go into my living room to rest up there and try let my SO sleep for as long as possible in case it wasn’t go time and he needed to go to work.

Well, around 6 am my SO woke up asked me how I was doing and we decided he would stay home from work. It overall was an amazing experience. I did have to have my water broken as I was already 16+ hours in to my birthing time and although I was 90% effaced my cervix was only at 6 and my midwife was concerned that I was getting tired (which I was!) and suggested it would help me move into transformation (Hypnobabies word for transition). I wouldn’t say I was in pain but more like pressure.

At times, especially during transformation, it was an intense pressure and waves were hitting me back to back. I consistently listened to the Easy First Stage (Hypnobabies main birthing time track) track on repeat and Birthing Day Affirmations in between. My SO read birthing prompts to me and often used the Release and Peace cues which were VERY helpful! And when It came time to push, we all listened to Pushing Baby Out (Hypnobabies track just for pushing), out loud until he finally made his entrance!

If we ever decide to have another baby, one thing I would make sure to incorporate into my practice would be to envision my birthing time to be less time overall. That isn’t something I even thought about envisioning this time around! But everything else about my birthing time that I did envision happened and it was great! Happy to say I also came out of my birthing time without a tear and it never hurt to use the restroom after! Overall great recovery!

I recommend Hypnobabies to anyone who is looking to have a wonderfully positive and empowering birthing experience!

Gabe is now a month old and thriving! 😍😍
