Em’s Calm Peaceful Hypnobabies Hospital Birth

“I am fortunate to live in an area where natural births and respecting mother’s birthing preferences is a huge priority, even in the hospital setting with an OB. I felt my birth wishes were all respected and I ended up having the limited-intervention and medication free birth I wanted.”

My beautiful second hypno-baby came into the world this morning! I couldn’t have done it without my Hypnobabies tracks that helped me through my pregnancy anxiety and birthing time (Hypnobabies term for labor). I had listened to Come Out Baby (Hypnobabies track for encouraging baby to be born) for about a week while having prodromal waves that ended up getting her in the perfect position. I was 40 +4, which was tough for me as my first baby came 3 weeks early! Babies really are born at the perfect time for them. Big thanks to the Hypnobabies Support group for all the support I found.

During my birthing time I listened to Easy First Stage (Hypnobabies main birthing time track) on repeat until it came to pushing, where I listened to Pushing Baby Out (Hypnobabies track for pushing) on one headphone. After having waves 5 minutes apart for most of the day Wednesday (while working from home and having work meetings!) they started to pick up later in the evening and we left for the hospital around 8 pm when they were 2-5 minutes apart. I was 5 cm when I got there. I am fortunate to live in an area where natural births and respecting mother’s birthing preferences is a huge priority, even in the hospital setting with an OB. I felt my birth wishes were all respected and I ended up having the limited-intervention and medication free birth I wanted.

After all night strong waves, I decided to have my water broken around 5:30 am, which took me from 7 cm to 10 in about 3 waves. I pushed for maybe 30-45 min and she arrived! 8 lb 10 oz, no tearing. I did feel discomfort during my birthing time, but nothing that felt more than I could handle, and I was able to stay calm and peaceful the whole time.
