ElisaBeth’s Quick Hypnobabies Hospital Birth

“We got up there and told them I was feeling pushy which they kind of dismissed. A nurse checked me and said I was at a 7 at about 7:23. I was really disappointed. My husband came in and I told him the news but tried to stay optimistic. A few minutes later I got on the bed, asked for the back to be raised up and announced I was going to push. I did and my water broke. A minute later I said I think his head was coming and reached down and caught it.”

I had my second hypno-baby on the tenth and thought I would share my experience and hopefully give some encouragement!

I had my first hypno-baby two years ago on august 23. It was a great birth that happened exactly how I imagined. I struggled to stay in hypnosis throughout the whole thing which made transformation (Hypnobabies term for transition) hard and my birth longer than it needed to be I’m sure but was still over all a really good experience and he was a whopping 10 lbs.

Two weeks ago, I had an even better experience. My guess date (Hypnobabies term for due date) was the 8th and when that day passed, I was a little disappointed. I went 41+5 with my first. The evening of the 9th I went to bed feeling nothing until I started listening to my tracks. I had very inconsistent waves (Hypnobabies term for contractions) but I started listening to Your Birthing Time Begins (Reminder of all the tools and techniques for birthing) from 11-2. I woke my husband about then and had him start timing. I was very comfortable, joking after each wave and moving around.

He helped me get in our tub around 4 and I relaxed in there for another hour or so. When I got out of the tub it started getting more intense and my husband went to get everything in the car and to text my mom that today was the day. When he came back upstairs, I was moaning “ooooopppppeeeeennn” through each wave. We decided to move me downstairs, so I was closer to the car. When I got down the stairs I said I needed to throw up (which was my tell tail sign I was in transformation with my first) but I was still so calm I didn’t think it was actually true. I did say I thought we should leave for the hospital, however. We arrived at 7:15 am. My husband was checking in and a nurse took me upstairs. We had to stop 4-5 times on the way up, but I was joking and talking as I walked.

The nurse was the only one in there and rushed over, I have one more push and he born 8 lbs 13 Oz 21 1/2 in long born at 7:28. Just 14 minutes after we entered the hospital and two and half pushes! Babies really are born when they want, how they want and do not birth by numbers! Hang in there mommas if you are waiting or looking for encouragement. This really works!
