I barely had time to put on the Pushing Baby Out track (Hypnobabies special track just for pushing). As I only realized I needed it when I felt her head full of hair ready to enter the world! I had a very vocal 3-minute pushing time, and she was in my arms.”

My second hypno-baby arrived on the 11th after a speedy and very different birth than her sister but still so beautiful and comfortable.

Hypnobabies Mom is birth tub for waterbirthAt 40+1 weeks I started having mild waves (Hypnobabies term for contractions), but I knew they were it. I took advantage of their softness to spend time with my toddler and get as many cuddles as possible and boob time to bond and cheekily get oxytocin flowing.

She went to bed with her dad listening to “Toddler Sleepy Time” (Hypnobabies special track to help with naptime and bedtime) as usual and I went to my room to begin my tracks. I listened to Your Birthing Time Begins (Hypnobabies reminders of tools for birthing time) and Birthing Day Affirmations as I did the Miles circuit and things picked up. I spent the night listening to tracks either resting on my birthing ball or trying to get some rest between waves in bed.Hypnobabies student in birth tub being checked by midwife

In the morning by 6 am that my toddler awoke they were getting more and more powerful, so I took a bath and managed to sleep between waves in the tub whilst listening to Easier First Stage (Hypnobabies main birthing day track). I managed to spend some time with my partner and toddler and my partner made the call to have my mother pick up our toddler.

As soon as they left, I timed a few waves, and they were 2/3 minutes apart, so we decided to head to the hospital.

I was dilated to 5 cm. About 30 minutes later I got in the birthing tub and Ivy was born at 1:33pm.

She was awake and in awe just like I was and didn’t cry for a couple of hours. She latched soon after birth as I waited to birth my placenta.

We were discharged by 4 pm after lots of skin to skin and a little lunch and straight to our toddler who is in love with her sister.

I can’t thank Hypnobabies enough once again for the preparation for birth and beyond. I was ready mentally, physically and my partner knew just what to do and say to keep me focused when I needed support.
