Amy’s Amazing Hypnobabies Hospital Birth

Amy’s Amazing Hypnobabies Hospital Birth
“I told the nurses and doctor about my plan and they let me mostly be, which was listening to the Hypnobabies Easy First Stage track (Hypnobabies main birthing day track) on repeat.”
I am back from the hospital and I have to thank you for giving me the tools and skills to go through the birth I wanted.
I had my second boy. My first birth I had enrolled in Hypnobabies after hearing about it from a birthing class. I was late signing up (around 30 weeks at that time) and although I did a natural birth as well, I think for the second birth Hypnobabies really helped me. For this second birth I signed up at 29 weeks and followed the course, listened to the affirmations and the hypnosis recommended everyday.  I was working up to my birthing day so I listened to the hypnosis mostly when I was going to sleep. There were times when I ran out of time during the day to do the maintenance but I made sure the hypnosis listening took place daily.
New mom and baby

When birthing waves (Hypnobabies term for contractions) started I started listening to steady streams of hypnosis. When I got to the hospital I was 5cm. I told the nurses and doctor about my plan and they let me mostly be, which was listening to the Easy First Stage track (Hypnobabies main birthing day track) on repeat. I did go to my Special Safe Place many times which was on the couch at home, looking at the bird feeder with my toddler and baby. Once the birthing day progressed the pressure increased but I had the visual of the blood pressure cuff wrapping around me and the baby giving us a big hug every time. This visual helped me so much. My husband and I even slept when I progressed from 5cm to 8cm until pushing time to save energy from 11pm to 4am.

When pushing came it was only 20 minutes. The first shift nurse was so shocked I had progressed so much so quietly on the ball she called me “stoic” and the second shift nurse said I was the happiest woman giving birth she had ever seen, smiling during labor.
I was able to leave the hospital and come home. I am Breastfeeding with my new baby in my special safe place on the couch and watching the birds in the snow. I’m so grateful for the strength and tools you gave me.
