Hmmmm....Hypno...babies??

Yes! These are babies whose parents choose to easily and naturally prepare for childbirth using the Hypnobabies method of Hypnotic Childbirth, which some might call "hypnobirthing". Hypnobabies however, is very different in that we teach real medical hypnosis techniques, creating an automatically peaceful, relaxing and more comfortable pregnancy, a calm confident Hypno-Dad, and an easier, much more comfortable, and sometimes pain-free birthing for our Hypno-Mom.

Hypnobabies is a complete childbirth education course that also teaches Gerald Kein's famous Painless Childbirth techniques to Hypnobabies mothers so that they can enter hypnosis, deepen it themselves and remain mobile during labor, completely comfortable at all times. Most of our Hypno-babies have no drugs in their systems when they are born, and are able to nurse, breathe well and interact with their happy parents immediately.

Did you know?

There are people that have life-threatening allergies to anesthetics who successfully undergo medical and dental surgery with hypnosis as their only anesthesia! If hypnosis can create effective pain elimination for surgeries of all kinds, we know it can work for childbirth, and it does quite well. I've been trying to think of how to explain my experience, but there
really aren't logical words to describe it all. This was my 5th
child-birth and was BY FAR the best one. I was well trained in
un-medicated child-birth through two other methods and had 3 un-medicated
births before Hypnobabies. The whole Hypnobabies class helped my mental
state and prepared me for my birthing time. In labor, the pressure waves were so
manageable that I wondered if I would know when to go to the hospital……

Our doula friend suggested that we try Hypnobabies, self-hypnosis for childbirth. My wife and I attended a six week hands-on course that taught my wife how to produce anesthesia from her thoughts. No, seriously! Through a series of hypnotic scripts, affirmations, and relaxation music my wife actually learned how to create mental anesthesia during birth. And I learned how to help her do it. During the entire six weeks I felt like we were preparing for this upcoming momentous and spiritual event together. We were truly a team this go-around, ready to welcome our second child in a calm, peaceful way. No drugs. No screaming. No anxiety.

Another of our Hypno-Dads, Shane recently posted a YouTube video of Hypno-Mom Alicia having a long birthing wave (contraction) in labor while at 7 cm, with a baby that was in a posterior position and head tipped to the side. This can create a much more difficult birthing ,yet Alicia is very relaxed, calm and comfortable, breathing deeply during the wave, and smiling when she is finished with it. Using Hypnobabies allowed her to enjoy her baby's natural birth, and Shane's comments were:

Our first child was born at home, posterior and asynclitic (she came sunnyside up and head cocked to the side---usually results in long labors and c-section in hospital). Thanks to Hypnobabies (and lots of practice before hand) the birth was easy and fast. Alicia is getting close to transition in this video but you can see how calm she feels and how focused she is...she's just riding the birthing wave (contraction) out. The whole birth was like this.

"Think your Hypnobabies tools are only useful for your birth? Think again. After having 2 beautiful and pain free births using Hypnobabies, I've learned to use the techniques in other areas of my life, including meditation, stressful situations, neck/back aches, etc.. Last weekend I had the opportunity to use them again at my dermatologist's office.

I had a suspicious looking mole on my hip and the doctor told me she needed to biopsy it. The nurse came in and started filling a needle with a local pain medication. I stopped her and asked if that was safe for a nursing mother. She said I wouldn't be able to nurse for 12 hours. My 9 month old nurses about every 2 hours so I told her that wouldn't work and that I'd just have the procedure without the pain medication.

The nurse chuckled and said "oh no, we'd never do that, it'd hurt too much". I assured her I'd had 2 children with no pain meds and that I could handle it. She said "we just don't do that - we would never perform a biopsy without drugs". I pushed. "Please ask the doctor. I promise, I can handle it." The doctor came in with a surprised look on her face. "You want to do this with no drugs?!"

I explained I was nursing and I would simply use the hypnosis techniques I used for my drug free births. She smiled and said "ok, let's begin". I asked for a moment, took a deep breath, went into 'OFF' switch and directed my golden anesthesia to my hip. She was done in seconds without even a flinch from me. (What was all the fuss about??) She said "you did amazing, we've never had anyone do that before". So remember, Hypnobabies For Birth...but also Hypnobabies For Life!"
